It’s been a month since my last photo diary post, and there has definitely been a lot of highlights since then. Aside from those written in my collage above, some other highlights are:
Going on a Great Ocean Road trip (which I will make a separate post about)
Realizing that I am in control of my exchange experience. My path does not have to be conjoined to others. If I want to go somewhere and nobody else wants to go, the best idea is to just go.
Hanging out with friends on the beach on a Sunday and talking about differences between Australia and Canada, like the pronunciation of Aluminium and Adidas. Also, seeing a local home and eating Vegemite toast was pretty cool!
Orientation week! Met new friends and probably injured my liver by drinking too much. I also made a toga out of my bed sheets and was quite impressed with myself.
Asking a guy that I found fascinating to hang out (which was really nerve-wracking)! We had coffee and talked for a couple of hours.
Discovering that it’s spelled nerve-wracking, and not nerve-wrecking
Designing a graphic shirt for my Textiles Design class. My professor called me her most organized student. I am such a teacher’s pet.
Seeing Marly (a girl from my home school) when she visited Melbourne!
Going to the Victoria Night Market and drinking sangria!
Movie nights (or talking ‘til 5 in the morning) at Dom’s, a friend we made on the first night of orientation week
The past couple of weeks has made me feel like I’m stuck in a daydream- carelessly floating through everyday life. As a self-confessed control freak, the overflowing amount of leisure time that I’ve had has been making me feel uneasy. I have to constantly remind myself that drowning in responsibilities isn’t the only way to live life. I’m taking this time to get inspired through travel, and work on my creativity in every way possible. Looking forward to what’s coming!
