The week before I moved to Melbourne, I felt extremely nervous and doubtful. In one of my journal entries I wrote, “I hope my emotions would be like skydiving: terrifying leading up to it, but fearlessly beautiful once it actually happens”. That’s exactly what happened. On the way to the airport, I felt calm and prepared. Any feelings of nervousness was overpowered by a feeling of this is where I need to be.
My first week in Melbourne has been a dream come true. Surprisingly, I felt comfortable and well-adjusted so quickly. I am proud of myself for being here, for going out of my comfort zone, and getting through my first week.
